Woodland Burial
24 hour callout: 01425 2789 10
We believe that Hinton Park is the largest, and longest established woodland burial ground in the UK able to offer a complete, professional service. We provide a comprehensive burial service and have the experience, knowledge and facilities to cater for all requirements. It is important to note that if you wish to be buried at Hinton Park, there is no need to contact any other funeral director or undertaker; we make all the necessary arrangements to meet your requirements. Purchase of a burial plot ensures that the plot is used solely for the assigned person. We can arrange for family members/relatives to be buried in adjacent plots (subject to availability) but we do not, and will not, consider burials in plots which have been assigned or sold. You are assured that your loved one will not be disturbed by further, later, burial activities.
Professional, Friendly and Compassionate Assistance
Rural scene We pride ourselves on our caring, compassionate approach and on the quality of our trained staff. We have many letters of thanks reflecting our genuine compassion, understanding and support, and we have time and a warm welcome for those who want to visit their departed ones or simply come to look around, and there's always a friendly face to help. For many, a woodland burial plot is less final than a more traditional burial and offers a chance to sit in peace in tranquil, natural surroundings, in harmony with the countryside and close to one's departed loved one. It is common to see relatives visiting, and spending time simply walking or sitting and enjoying a coffee.

However, if you wish to make final arrangements or discuss the purchase of a plot, we do recommend that you make an appointment either here at Hinton Park or at your home, so that we can ensure a member of staff attends to you promptly and is able to show you a map of available plots, take you on a tour of the burial ground, and assist you. (See our opening times.)
If you need assistance with transport to visit us and view the burial ground, please call Hinton Park and we will be pleased to help where we can.

If you require immediate assistance please telephone 01425 2789 10 any time day or night.

Collection and Transportation Vehicles
A fleet of green Mercedes vehicles, including our Mercedes limousine, are available for collection of loved ones and transportation of relatives and friends at burial services. If you need assistance with transport to visit the burial ground, please call Hinton Park and we will be pleased to assist. Collection of loved ones can be any time day or night; please call us at any time for help.

Place of Rest Place of Rest
A quiet place of rest is available to visit your loved ones before the burial takes place. Please call Hinton Park to arrange a time that is most suitable.

Tree Planting
After the burial, we allow time for the plot to settle and then plant a tree of your choice. We offer a range of native trees from which you may choose (click here for a list of trees). There is no charge for your tree, this is part of our burial service. We also encourage you to plant wild flowers around your tree should you wish, but ask that you do not 'garden' the plot or position benches or similar as this can detract from the natural woodland ambience. (click here for a list of flowers).

Name Plaque Name Plaque
We do not use headstones but supply a small green or brass name plaque placed next to your plot and which can contain a message of your choice.

Making the Arrangements
Following your instructions, our trained staff will make the necessary arrangements for a burial or cremation. This includes booking a minister, arranging the service, newspaper announcements, flowers, transport and catering if required.

Reception Building Service of your Choice
You are free to choose the type of burial or remembrance service, should you wish to hold one. We can help arrange for a religious service at church or at Hinton Park, or a non-religious or family service here at Hinton Park. Services may be outdoors in the meadow or inside our purpose-built reception building. We will make every effort to meet any unique personal requests for the service. Please contact our staff to discuss your requirements.
Our purpose-built reception building can also host receptions after the service, with catering if required. The building can also host indoor remembrance services for up to 100 people. Reception

Choice of Coffins
We use a traditional style, simple coffin, with no handles and finished in an oak effect. If you would prefer, a cardboard or bamboo coffin are also available and we are also able to offer various other styles and materials if you so require. (Please discuss your requirements with our staff.)
