Why a Woodland Burial?
|
|
The increase in popularity of Woodland Burials is, we believe, because a
Woodland Burial offers a unique service very different to that offered by a
traditional burial.

Supporting Nature
|
Being
surrounded by nature is many people's choice for a final resting place. Our
ethos is to create and maintain a natural woodland environment, supporting
a variety of wildlife, which provides just such a peaceful, tranquil and
natural setting. For many people also, a woodland burial plot is less final
than more traditional burials or cremations, and offers relatives and loved
ones a chance to sit in peace in tranquil, natural surrounds, in harmony
with the countryside and close to their departed loved one. It is common to
see relatives visiting our woodland burial ground and spending time simply
walking or sitting, or enjoying a coffee and chat with us. We welcome you
to plant wild flowers, though we do ask you not to 'garden' the plot as
this can detract from the overall natural ambience. We do not have
traditional headstones, or tombstones, instead we provide a small
commemorative plaque and plant a native tree as a memorial.

Flexible Services
|
Our woodland
burials allow you a great deal of flexibility at what is a difficult and
sensitive time. You have the opportunity to select your own plot and to
have your own type of remembrance service. Maybe you would like a
traditional religious service, perhaps simply a family led one, or maybe
some other which you feel to be more appropriate. In any event, we are
happy to discuss and accommodate your wishes wherever we are able. If you
do not want to involve a member of the clergy, or would simply like someone
to lead the remembrance service for you, a member of our staff is available
to do so should you require, and as part of our support at this difficult
time. Additionally, there are very few time restrictions for a burial or
cremation service at Hinton Park; you may take as long as you wish.
Importantly, you are also able to choose your plot years in advance thus
assuring a peaceful, tranquil, final resting place. Many people find
selecting their plot, and arranging the details and paying for the burial
service in advance to be a great comfort and gives additional peace of
mind. (Click here for
more details). Please also note, that the services of a
'traditional' undertaker are not required as these duties are included, and
conducted by ourselves as part of our service.

Planning in Advance
|
We
believe that we offer a compassionate, caring, flexible, and competitive
service. We find that for many of our customers the ability to plan and
arrange things in advance, and to pay and/or budget in advance, provides a
great sense of relief. Our friendly, compassionate and understanding staff
are happy to talk through all aspects of the planning with you and explain
the various options and arrangements available to you.
We publish a price 'menu' so that you are fully aware of the costs and
charges associated with all our facilities and services thus allowing you
to budget accordingly. And, you can pay in full now (though certain
'disbursement' charges outside our control can only be applied at the
time of bereavement), pay by instalments, or even pay in part now and the
balance later. (Click here for more details.)

Plot Ownership
|
We have several
thousand plots available at Hinton Park. Our staff will show you the map of
available plots and take you on a tour of the burial ground to assist you
with your choice. Plots may be purchased now for future burials (click here for more
details) and are available to all, regardless of area of
residence or age. A Certificate of Entitlement to Burial will be issued
which details our terms and conditions.

Family Involvement
|
|
|
At Hinton Park, we encourage family involvement in organising the funerals.
We are open to unique requests from families and are happy for families to
perform their own burial or cremation service if that is their wish. We can
of course also arrange for, and accommodate, a service along traditional
lines if that is required, or a member of our staff is available to lead a
service on your behalf should you so wish.
